Our new rooms have more than doubled the ripening capacity as our previous ripening technology. The ripening systems were designed uniquely for West Pak, with patented ripening technologies to ensure the perfect ripening uniformity.

Cooling and Heating Capacity The high efficiency R22 refrigeration systems provide room operating temperatures from 40°F to 70°F.Each room can cool 20 pallets from 72°F to 42°F in approximately 4 hours. Cooling rate is based on 95°F average ambient outside temperature.  Each room can heat 20 pallets from 40°F to 60°F in approximately 5-7 hours
Guarantees Pulp Temperature, The ripening rooms will maintain 90% of the pulp temperatures within a spread of +/- 1°F based on full rooms using acceptable ripening practices with 12 hour equilibrium period after set point changes.
Full-length room cooling coils with generous coil surface specially designed to provide the optimum conditions for Avocado ripening. The cooling coils are circuited and sized to provide the lowest latent capacity possible and thus the least amount of moisture removal from the room ensuring the optimum ripening conditions for the fruit. The specially designed Air Coolers are the highest quality available today. The Air Coolers provide cooling and pressurization of the product.  One air cooler is provided per room with five (5) fan compartments per air cooler. Dade Service’s custom built Air Coolers are designed to be circuited for R-22 refrigerant. The cooling capacity at peak is approximately 34 tons. The high air flow capacity is at 30,000 cfm. Coils are constructed with copper tubing and have aluminum fins. The motor assemblies are 1.5 HP, total 7.5 HP per room and are TEAO premium efficiency. Heating elements are attached to the coils and provide 20 kW of electric reheat per room.
